As a complimentary product to the new Megger BDTR1500, Megger have also released their model TDR1000 dedicated hand-held TDR offering similar features to the TDR portion of the BTDR1500 but competitively-priced for the user wanting superior TDR performance to compliment an existing collection of discrete testing equipment.
Like the BTDR1500, the TDR1000 offers exceptional features and a range capability normally only associated with more expensive instruments. Range is an impressive 0.1m to 3000m to an accuracy of 1%, made possible by both a pulse width selection from 7ns to 3000ns and a 4 stage gain provision, also permitting accurate discrimination between features along the cable length. Impedance matching is provided for 25Ω, 50Ω, 75Ω, and 100Ω networks, which allows for testing of power, coax (LAN ), coax (CATV), and twisted pair circuits, respectively. Balancing circuitry allows the transmitted pulse to be nulled out so cable features can be detected within the pulse width. The TDR1000 features a number of user-configurable parameters, a back-lit LCD, and is housed in a IP54 case with soft protective case also provided.
