Long HV/EHV AC cables and HVDC interconnectors require a strong, controlled signal for detection under water. Hummingbird provides up to 40 kW, 100 A and 400 V, with less than 3% harmonic distortion across its frequency range. An ROV-mounted receiver such as Magtrack detects the resulting magnetic field for route tracing, GPS surveying and fault pinpointing.

The same audio-frequency method supports two critical tasks: confirming the cable route and narrowing down low-resistance main-insulation faults. Adjustable output between 10 and 40 Hz in 1 Hz steps helps the team select a signal suited to the cable, receiver and survey plan, reducing the need for separate transmitters.
Set voltage, current and frequency from a clear touch interface
Voltage, current and frequency are set independently through a 23 cm (9 in) industrial touch display. The simplified interface gives operators direct control over the injected signal and makes approved settings easier to repeat across planned survey passes or fault-location work.
