About the product

The VLF Sine 37 kV with integrated tan delta is a compact, durable, and highly portable test and diagnostic system designed for medium-voltage (MV) cable networks.

A powerful, comprehensive solution for MV cable test and diagnostics

Combining robust performance with practical mobility, the VLF Sine 37 stands out as the most powerful portable unit in its class, capable of testing up to 1.6 μF @ 26 kVRMS, making reliable testing and diagnostics of cables longer than 5 km effortless.

The unit is a truly multifunctional tool. It performs:

  • VLF and DC testing
  • Sheath testing and sheath fault pinpointing (with the ESG NT2 step voltage probe)
  • Tan delta measurements for accurate assessment of cable condition and insulation integrity
  • Can be used as a power source for partial discharge (PD) measurements to identify local problems such as workmanship issues

Thanks to its smart frequency control, the system automatically adjusts the test frequency based on cable length, ensuring testing even on 15 kV-rated cables up to 25 km long.

Intuitive interface for easy operation

The touch-enabled user interface is designed for quick setup and smooth operation. Even advanced diagnostic procedures can be performed with minimal training - making the VLF Sine 37 a time-saving asset for both routine and in-depth tasks.

Built-in Data Management

All test results are automatically analysed and stored on the unit’s large internal memory - no external PC required. Operators can easily:

  • Review results directly on the device
  • Export data via USB, or soon via wireless transfer to a mobile device
  • Compare historical measurements, such as year-on-year test data

Flexible accessories and enhancements

The VLF Sine 37 kV can be enhanced with a range of optional accessories:

  • PDS 62-SIN Partial Discharge System: When paired with the lightweight PDS 62-SIN coupler and its globally trusted software, the unit becomes a complete PD diagnostic solution, supporting withstand testing, tan delta, and partial discharge analysis in one setup.
  • Custom transport cases: Designed for both the VLF unit and the PD coupler to ensure safe and convenient transport.
  • Pluggable HV test leads: Available in 5, 10, or 15-meter lengths for flexible field deployment.
  • Additional accessories: Including leakage current correction modules and various test adapters, expanding the system’s capabilities even further.
